Announcing... New Novices!

Our new novice foursome was completed on July 3rd as the final investment day arrived after MUCH anticipation – not to mention prayers, supplications and much ‘asking, seeking & knocking’ from these faithful sisters! One of the most climactic moments in a young nun’s life is the timeless span of seconds before receiving her new name. This agonizing time carries a special excitement as the new novice anxiously awaits to hear the name God has given her! During the investment ceremony our full-fledged postulants have their hair sheared. Then they slowly begin to resemble a PCPA as they are clothed piece by piece. These are inspiring moments for all as we recognize that this transformation is both a fulfillment and a promise of God’s abundant grace. Catching a glimpse of the young women’s parents as they see their once ‘little girl’ becoming a new person in Christ is unforgettable. She is not becoming a ‘Mrs. ___’, but Sister ____! Such ceremonies, like weddings, never get ‘old’ in monastic life. We now have sisters with new names, new patronesses, new grace, and a new leg of their journey to follow. They would tell you that despite the routines characteristic of this particular calling, theirs is no boring life. Since their big days, their new habits have been christened by plum juice stains in the canning room, a rousing water balloon fight on the 4th, and the usual rendezvous with the mop bucket or dust rag! When you are about to set out on your own travels to work, vacation, or a summer reunion, please remember these novices in your prayers – may God fulfill the great work He has begun in them! Bottom: Sr. Jeanette Marie of Divine Love & Sr. Chiara Marie of Jesus, True Light. Top: Sr. Edith Marie of Our Lady, Ark of the Covenant & Sr. Maria Maris Stella of the Holy Spirit.

My dear sisters,
I hope our Beloved Jesus fills you of his Merciful Love, and makes you strong to be crowned with His Divine Holy, full of flowers and thorns Crown...

I wish Sr. Veronica fills her life of Jesus, and that begins a new an eternal life with her New, Handsome, Beautiful and Bewished Husband.

Please Sisters, ¡Please! Pray for me... I'm a girl who used to wish in being a Jesus's Wife like you, but now, everything is confused for her... I don't want to make more mistakes, that make Jesus feels sad... I love him, but I'm not strong enough to be faithful to him and to myself...

I wish someday we can see each other. Or maybe to write each other, and just speak.

I love you...

United in Jesus.

Andrea.

Dear Sisters,
Congratulations on the new blog site and on your "change of habits"---postulant garb for PCPA habits and the white veil for the black. May Mary and her Blessed Son, Jesus, be with all of you and shower you with graces untold. Perhaps you will have many more announcements to make in the near future :)
With Love,
Cindi from Wisconsin

Dear sisters, how wonderful to find your new blog. I have been followingthe progress of, and praying for your sisters in formation, for years. I have always wondered what special customs are followed within the community on "ceremony days" Do the sisters wear a floral wreath for example?

God bless you all in your hidden eucharistic life.

Congratulations to the new novices! A longer-than-usual wait to receive the habit, for sure....but it was worth it!

Wish I could have been in religious life-I thought of being a Carmelite in my mid-teens to mid-twenties. But now I'm considered to be 'too old' in my mid-fifties.

It's so nice, though, to see young women consecrating their lives to Our Lord, especially in the hidden life of a cloistered nun.

As I said to a postulant I encountered at the Shrine in 2005, 'You're so blessed to be living here!' (she smiled shyly after I said it)

Pray for me, Sisters, that I would know-at this late date in life-what Our Lord REALLY wants of me for the days that are left to me!

I love all of the Novices' names but I have to say that Sister Edith Marie of "Our Lady, Ark of the Covenant" has to be one of the most fantastic religious names I've yet seen!
